2003 Chardonnay Block 2

Tasting Date: 16 November 2007

A crisp vibrant nose of minerals, flint and toasty oak. The palate is weighty, rich and sweet with a wonderful mix of pink grapefruit through to stonefruits. The power of this wine is reined in by the well balanced acidity which provides focus and direction leading to a clean mineral and oak finish

Tasting Date: 1 March 2005

“My chosen wine is the ‘2003 Block 2’, and it is a blinder. It underwent this phenomenal gestation – straight to barrel, wild ferment, malo in barrel, lees stirring, no racking, low sulphur, cold-stabilization, unracked, unfiltered, bottled. The result is a wine of spectacular density, unbelievable calm and incredible IQ."
